Marc Paloma

Directeur Général
Collège du Léman

Dear Alumni,

Starting in January 2010, Collège du Léman’s 50th anniversary will be the perfect occasion for all of us to be reunited and celebrate half a century of memorable stories!

As you know, CDL was created in 1960 to welcome students from all over the world, to provide an excellent education and to offer a unique opportunity for international friendship. In the last fifty years some thirty thousand families have joined our community and spread our school’s spirit across all six continents of the world.

Today we reach out to you all for your support in making 2010 not only a celebration of the past, but also a pathway to the future for our next fifty years!

In order to encourage broad involvement and to bring everyone together, the organization of the anniversary has been given to a committee made up of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff. This planning committee will be chaired by Alexis Boyer-Meyerman, Head of the Alumni Program and herself a graduate of CDL.

Further information will be provided during the next two weeks, but if this message has already sparked your imagination, please contact us at alexis.boyer-meyerman@cdl.ch to help us make 2010 a year to remember.

We look forward to your participation,

Marc Paloma
Director General
Collège du Léman

I have commented in the past...I have never received any reply to my submission/suggestions. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. I consider myself as a "founder member of teaching staff" as I began my teaching career at CdL the day the school opened in 1960. I see the only "staff" who have registered and give 1960 as a "start date" at CdL, are founders M. et Mme Clivaz! I have booked my flight to Geneva. It will be a pleasure to meet informally some of my students from the years 1960 to 1964 who I know will also be "in Geneva".. At least one of these was also a "founder student". In some of its blurb, the Alumni Association suggested there might be special rates for those ageing former teaching staff (who might not have the luxury of a Swiss pension - such as myself!) . The only concession I have seen is a reduction for those who taught 10 years or more at CdL! I wonder how many of the 1960 cohort that would apply to?! Best wishes..André Saunders (Scotland)

I can not find any information about the end of June reunion in Geneva. Is it still on?

Is there a date for the celebration of the 50th anniversary? I would like to get in touch with the alumni from 1974, and wonder if you have more details? Lori Poublon
