Once upon a time at CDL...
The last 50 years have been marked by important changes in our world – both good and not so good – which have in turn affected a school like Collège du Léman, which is closely linked to every corner of the world. So whether you were one of the first students to set foot on campus, a class valedictorian, or a boarder who mastered the skill of evading campus, we want to find out from you how growing up in a community like CDL has impacted your life, and what experiences have made the most lasting impressions on you.

Let's see

... particular school incidents that now make you smile but at the time had the opposite effect ..

This can only be Gale's ;) office (not me but ... )

Did CDL give you a truly international foundation to be a world citizen ..

Yes. It truly did.

What is your most significant memory of your stay at CDL?

Hard. There are many.

I mean I was there for .. 11yrs. I am a CDL product (no ..honestly).

Have you achieved your goal in life

Not yet but going there.

I could use Clinton's model of three lists; short, medium range and long term goals. The short I have .. no real use for but, if the long term would be , well , what is my goal the medium range has been .. 60% fulfilled?

I was gonna say hopefully completely by the summer. That won't be possible, my voluntary mil training which will start in Oct .. that will resume sometime nxt year (anyhow it is ongoing. Like having been in human rights; even if no longer the permanent observer I still/nowadays am a human rights defender .. so it is a part of me and never leaves), have plans for a 2nd book ..

So, yea, let's say by end of 2011 (before 2012 which is a  ..pretty good time :) to do so).

What is your current occupation and position

Yeah, the above pretty much answers it.  Soldier, writer, politico (not elected office but not activist either)

A wish for the future of CDL

Go back to how it was? :)

Blast from the past

Posted By Katrina M. Kay (Miller), vendredi 12 mars 2010

Being in a new country was challenging, but being new to a school was even more intimidating! But my time at CDL was made so much easier by the friends that I made. Names that come to mind are Karen Landry, Debra McCray, Jennifer Poulin, Renee Haynes, Kent Petersen, Freddy Hoyos, Yoshihiro Nishi, and Greg Snodgrass.

Being educated at CDL was an exceptional experience that has impacted my life in such positive ways that words can't adequately express. I'm thankful for the time that I was able to spend there!

I'm hoping that my daughter will someday enjoy the summer program!
